“Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with his garments stained crimson? Who is this, robed in splendor, striding forward in the greatness of his strength? “It is I, proclaiming victory, mighty to save.” (Isaiah 63:1 NIV)

“Show me your unfailing love in wonderful ways. By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies.” (Psalm 17:7 NLT)

“The Mighty One, God the LORD, speaks and summons the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.”  (Psalm 50:1 ESV)

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6 NIV)

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6 NIV)

“When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father–the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father–he will testify about me.” (John 15:26 NIV)

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.” (John 14:16 ESV)

(Advocate, sometimes translated as helper, comforter or counsellor, is parakletos in the Greek of the New Testament, and means the one who stands beside you in a court of law)

At the Name of Jesus, Advent Day 1

For this Advent season I will be sharing a little artwork based on names of Jesus in the Bible, and relevant verses to ponder.

Dear All,

First off, my apologies for going fairly quiet. We’ve had all kinds of manure hitting the fan over here and it’s been all about just waiting till things have settled down…  but though I’ve been quiet, I’ve not been idle.

WHALE SONG: Choosing Life with Jonah, my new book, is out today! Do have a mooch on

Amazon.com or Amazon.co.uk

to check it out and see if it might be for you. You can also find my book Positive Sisterhood there, as well as download my ebook Christian Prayers for the World for free.

Advent begins tomorrow along with a new series here on my blog, contemplating the names of Jesus.  And in the New Year we will be starting something completely different. At the moment that is called “In the Slow Lane” and will be a thought for the day, possibly featuring my favourite mystics, snails.

Thanks for sticking with me, and Advent blessings to you all!

Love,

Keren x

Landscape of Love 102: Adventure Playground

“Scope for imagination” a-plenty: walking planks and setting sail, exploring and climbing high, lost in another world the grown-ups cannot enter, having long forgotten the password. Here are lost boys and foundling girls, fairies and sprites, caught in caverns and towers. Up and down, round and back, sliding and swinging through air woven thick with fantasy. Dragons and heroes abound, orangutans swing and sing, everyone out of breath and zinging with fun. Mountains of make-believe, the sacred ground of play, too holy for sandals. You must be this short, to enjoy the ride.
